Books I Read in 2020

  I started a blogging practice in 2018 where I kept track of the books I'd read the whole year and wrote out my thoughts on them as a blog post. I enjoyed it so much, here I am continuing the tradition into 2020! This year has been insane, and I tried to keep up with my reading as best I could despite handling Covid-19, the intense US presidential election, BLM protests, civil unrest... it's been hectic. Emotionally, physically, psychologically draining to say the least. Not to mention I bought a house, moved out of state, had a big health scare, got a dog... it was an eventful year and I'm glad it's over! But I am very happy that I still managed to read quite a few books that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I read 11 Fiction Novels, 1 Graphic Novel, 1 Craft Book on Writing, and 3 Non-Fiction Books. Books I Read in 2019

So far this year (I'm writing a bit of this in mid-July) I have not read nearly as many books as I did in 2018. In fact, according to my Pinterest board dedicated to chronicling my reading this year, I have a measly five books on there. Last year, to compare, I read over 30 books! Why haven't I read as much this year?!? I love to read, I very much enjoyed all of the books I read last year... but can't seem to get back into the spirit of reading for fun. Maybe I burned myself out last year... maybe I've had some big life moments that took up a lot of my time and mental energy (hello, I got married this year! I got a promotion! A lot is going on!). Whatever the reason, I know I need to step up my game, especially since I plan to tackle Nanowrimo again this year and reading only fuels that fire and keeps my creative juices and my imagination primed and pumped for action.
